Review: Sleek Face Form - Light

Face Form - Light

I do not live near a Sleek counter unfortunately so I purchased 'Sleek face Form' online, I prefer to buy make-up straight from boots or superdrug so I know exactly what I am getting. However I gambled and and spent £9.99 on the kit from amazon which arrived very quickly and more importantly was free p&p which is why I chose to buy it from amazon and not the official sleek website. The face form kit comes in three different shades, dark, medium and light. I bought the light as I am very fair skinned.

I was very impressed when the kit arrived as it came in a little cardboard box which had a nice design and basically said what it was. On the back of the box it included very brief instructions on how to apply the kit. I was a little dissapointed as I was expecting  more detailed instructions after reading other reviews that said that they got a detailed leaflet o how to apply the kit. However I soon found a wonderful tutorial by Tanya Burr which told me all I needed to know! I found it quite hard to open the box and chipped my nail varnish doing so, but I think that was down to the excitement of wanting to open it!

The actual packaging is very elegant and easy to open!! It has a little mirror inside of the box making the kit ideal for touch ups on the go, it also has three equal compartments of the blusher, highlighter and bronzer. On the back of the box it has the ingredients, amount (20g) and the colour, fair 372.

Blusher -The colour of the blush is such a pretty colour, it is really well pigmented and really brightens up my fair complexion It has a gold shimer but it is not too strong, I think that the name of the colour is 'rose gold'. It is not a matte blusher so if you're not too keen on using non matte blushers then Face Contour Kit which is the same kit excluding the blusher, which may be a better option for you. Although it does work out cheaper to buy the Face Form kit, as the other kit is £6.49 and a sleek blusher is priced at £4.49.

Bronzer - The bronzer is completely matte which is great! It is such a lovely, natural tone although there is a quite a bit of blending required to get it completely natural looking. Overall though, it is deffinatley the best bronzer I own!

Highlighter - The highlighter is an absoloutley gorgeous colour! It is very soft and compliments the cheekbones really well. The highlighter is not completely matte again, it has a touch of silver in it but is so pretty!

My only negative note about the Face Form Kit is that it is a little messy as the powder flies everywhere but apart from that it is fab! The kit is great for all occassions as it is buildable, I would also recommend this to anyone who has never really contoured before and wants to give it a go as it is super easy to use!

Bottom line- I will deffinately be buying this again!

Lovely Lipstick!

I thought I'd share with you my best bargain of the week! I'm really chuffed with this purchase as the quality is fab and the price is even better!
Make up Academy: Shade 11

This colour is SO beautiful (shade 11), it is really moisturizing and has great pigmentation. It also has quite a nice smell and doesn't that strong plasticy taste that some cheap lipsticks do. I am soo impressed as it's only £1!! I'm planning to stock up on Make Up Academy products as so far they haven't failed to impress me! They have a wide range of products and it is deffinatley something I would reccomend for you to have a mosey at, with no worries about burning a hole in your pocket!

Homemade Facemasks!

Earlier, I was having a look through my memory box and I found a face mask recipe written by my mum in 1986.  I decided to try it out and it worked wonders on my sometimes dry skin.  It left my face feeling really soft, cleansed and fresh! I love making homemade face masks as they're a really cheap way to cleanse skin without paying ridiculous amounts! I also quite enjoyed doing it!
What you will need:
A little clear honey
An egg yolk
Enough oatmeal to make a creamy paste (about 1 handful)

First mix the honey and egg yolk until smooth.

Next gradually add the oatmeal and mix. Just keep adding the oatmeal until you get a creamy paste. About this consistency...

Gently apply to your face, it sticks better when you're lying down so dont panic if it keeps falling off whilst you are applying it! Now just relax for 20 minutes or so, pop in some headphones or watch some telly and let the mask work its magic!

When the 20 minutes are up gently rinse of the mask with luke warm water and voila- your face should feel really cleansed and fresh!

Think this is a weird combination of ingredients? So did I, so I did a little research to try and find out why these ingredients were so good for my skin...
'Honey is an antibacterial so it reduces pimples.
'Oatmeal softens your skin, relieves dryness and itching. it also has anti-inflammatory properties and scrubbing this against your face is a good and gentle way to remove dead skin cells'
'The eggyolk is a natural facelift, reducing wrinkles and clearing the skin - it has lysozymes which has skin clearing qualities'

So there you go! I hope this works for you and you have fun trying it!

My April Favourites!

Hello everyone I hope you are enjoying your long weekend/bank holiday:)!
April has flown by and I'd just like to share a couple of my favourite products I have been adoring throughout this month!
The first product I have been absolutely loving is the Real Techniques Multi Task Brush. I have been using it for applying powder and blusher which it is perfect for. The brush is so soft! Words cant describe how much I  love using it!
I have been using Make-up academy bronzer in shade 1, it gives my fair skin a really healthy glow and blends really well. It was only a pound aswell!
I have also enjoyed using Rimmel Match Perfection in the colour 100 ivory. It has been giving my skin a really natural finish and has a really good lasting power. It really evens out my skin tone and doesn't give that glowy look that some foundations tend to create. It also has a really nice smell! I got this from boots for £6.99 and I am really enjoying using it.
I apologise for the lack of pencil there is left on the picture above but I have used this Maybelline eyebrow pencil so much this month! It creates really natural but defined brow which is just what I aim for. The pencil is really soft and pleasant to use. It also has a little comb type thing on the end which is really handy!
Finally my favourite accessory of the month is my gold necklace from topshop. I love how it can change a really casual, plain outfit into a more dressy look with very little effort.

❤❤❤Thankyou for reading!❤❤❤

My top 10 basic beauty tips!

My top 10 very basic make-up tips!

1. Always apply moisturiser as a base for makeup application- foundation will go on more smoothly if the skin is kept well-hydrated.
2. Do not pump the mascara wand in and out of the bottle as this pushes air into the bottle which will make the mascara dry out faster- this causes clumping and flaking.
3. The fuller your brows, the younger you look! You still want to shape your brows but be careful with the tweezers! I'd suggest getting them waxed by a professional so you can get a great shape then doing it yourself from there, just plucking the odd hair to keep them in shape!
4. Never fill in brows with a black pencil- unless you want them to end up looking like slugs. Even if you have very dark hair, still stick to a dark brown pencil!
5. If you feel as though you don't have flawless skin please don't be tempted to cake foundation onto your face. Instead apply a thin even base of foundation then apply concealer to any blemishes- this will help your skin avoid the risk of a thick mask of foundation but still covering up any blemishes.
6. If you are looking for makeup brushes I strongly recommend real techniques. They are affordable and are such great quality All of the Real Techniques Brushes feature ultra-plush, synthetic taklon bristles, which mean they are 100% cruelty-free.
7. Clean your brushes regularly to get rid of bacteria, dirt and debris, dead skin cells, oil and old Makeup.
8.  When applying liquid eyeliner hold the eyelid so it is taut then apply in short, quick lines, connecting them rather than doing one full line. If you are just learning and the application is a little messy add a little eyeshadow to help cover up any mistakes- I did this until I got the hang if it.
9. When using bronzer you want a shade that is not too dark and strong . It should only be 2 tones darker than your skin tone.
10.  Finally just keep on top of your skin!  Make sure you're not caking foundation on when it is not necessary, also own a face wash that is the right one for you, wash your face and moisturise twice a day, always remove makeup at night and my top tip for getting rid of spots is sleeping with sudocream applied over the spots! It works every-time!
